PUT A RING ON IT

People often ask where I got my wood brand. After research, I made the right choice with GearHeart Industries. The ordering process was painless and the final product is well-made, electric with a wood handle. I love the results and the feeling it gives me when I put my name on something I believe in. I may even brand myself on my right scapula. Tattoos are for pansies. instagram.com/gearheartindustry

THE CROP KEEPER

I’ve already listed this information on my resources page, but am making an extra reference here because its so cool. My friend Jay in Maplewood recently invented something his son has dubbed: The CropKeeper. This is a durable wood and metal cage designed to surround your garden with an easy-to-use locking mechanism, which breaks down for easy storage off season. Check out the CropKeeper on Instagram.

WONDERFUL PRODUCT DISCOVERY

Another woodworker turned me onto to the Odie’s Oil product line of wood oils and I’ve been very happy with the results. I have a vestibule in my home made of 100-year-old tongue-and-grove Spruce planks, which a previous owner had coated with dark brown stain. Using stripper and sanding paper, I removed every last remnant of the stain and coated the walls with two coats of Odie’s Penetrating Oil. We love the smell, feel, and visual tone of the wood now. It’s a pleasure to walk downstairs! Instagram.com/OdiesOil
